Wat Nong Prue Prachuap Khiri Khan

Information and Directions:

Wat Nong Prue(วัดหนองปรือ) is a small rural Wat about 10 km West of the town of Prachuap Khiri Khan. There is no Bot/Ubosoth on the site but there are several different temple buildings including two large sala. A Mondop houses a collection of Buddha statues and icons and there is a well crafted crematorium.

Two huge Bodhi trees dominate the front of the Wat and they are bedecked in brightly coloured ribbons. The temple main gateway is quite colourful and looks relatively new, the mirrored tiles showing the Buddha in a classic pose.

There is plenty of parking at the Wat and no fees are charged.

To access to Wat Nong Prue leave Highway 4 and follow rural route 1016 to the West towards the Myanmar border.

GPS Co-ordinates: 11.819103 + 99.759243

Opinion:

A typical rural Thai Wat that is worth calling at if you are in the area. With no Ubosoth photographic opportunities are somewhat limited.
