Wat Sisa Thong Nakhon Pathom

Information and Directions:

Wat Sisa Thong is located in Nakhon Pathom province not too far from the city of the same name that is the home of the famous chedi. The temple is very interesting and is dedicated to the Buddhist/Hindu deity Phra Rahu.

The main feature is a open sided shrine featuring a huge statue of Phra Rahu although there are lots of other interesting temple buildings on the site, the majority of which are quite modern but nonetheless beautifully crafted.

The temple is extremely popular with the Thai people and they travel from far and wide to make an offering to Phra Rahu if they are seeking good luck with such things as a new business venture.

The temple is located a short distance from the main road between Bangkok and Nakhon Pathom, Highway 4. When travelling from the East you will need to do a U turn in order to gain access to the temple which is on the North side of the road, across the railway tracks.

There are no entrance fees and there is plenty of parking.

Opinion:

Wat Sisa Thong is definitely worth a visit, the art work on the main feature and on some of the more modern buildings is quite awe inspiring. Be aware that this temple can be extremely busy on holidays, festivals and weekends.
